At a glance
Health checkup costs in Korea depend on the tests, consultations and support included. Request a current itemised quote in Korean won, including possible sedation, pathology, translation and follow-up charges. This directory does not publish a verified partner-wide price range.
Compare the same scope
There is no single price that describes every health checkup in Korea. A useful comparison begins with an itemised quote for the tests, consultation and support you actually need. Ask each center to respond to the same request so a lower headline price does not hide a different service.
Write down your goals, previous test dates and any procedure specifically recommended by your clinician. Request a quotation in Korean won, with a date and a validity period. Keep currency conversion separate: exchange rates and card charges may change the amount you ultimately pay.
Separate the base price from possible extras
Ask the provider to identify what is included, optional and charged only if required. For an endoscopy appointment, ask specifically about sedation, biopsy, pathology and polyp removal. For imaging, ask about contrast and image copies. These are questions to resolve in the quote, not assumptions that a particular clinic charges separately.
Check whether the appointment includes a doctor-led results discussion, a written report in your preferred language, and a later conversation if a result is delayed. If interpretation is required, establish who provides it and how any fee is calculated.
- Consultation and examination: included or separate?
- Tests and procedures: exact names and scope?
- Reports, translation and follow-up: what is supplied?
- Unexpected findings: how is additional consent and pricing handled?
Check payment and cancellation terms
Before paying a deposit, ask for the provider's cancellation, rescheduling and refund terms in writing. Clarify what happens if the clinician decides a test is unsuitable, your preparation is incomplete, or a travel delay prevents attendance. Do not assume every reason leads to a refund.
Confirm accepted payment methods, when the balance is due, and whether an invoice and itemised receipt will be issued. If another organisation is arranging the appointment, identify which charges are its service fees and which are medical-provider charges.
Budget for the whole appointment
Your planning budget may also need transport, an escort, accommodation and a follow-up visit. Do not build an itinerary around a promised package duration without confirmation of recovery and reporting arrangements. Ask what happens if a result requires a later appointment.
Insurance coverage must be confirmed with the insurer for the actual planned services. Keep the written coverage response and ask what records a claim would require. A clinic's willingness to issue a receipt does not establish that an insurer will reimburse it. Compare the final written scope, then choose on clinical fit as well as price.
Common questions
Why does one checkup package cost more than another?
Packages can differ in clinical scope, procedures, language support and results consultations. Compare the same services in writing before deciding that a lower starting price represents better value.
Will travel insurance pay for a planned checkup?
Do not assume it will. Ask your insurer about the exact planned services, exclusions and claim documents before booking. A provider receipt does not establish reimbursement eligibility.
